This chapter describes the procedures required to set up a PC running Windows 2000/XP as an operator workstation. These procedures will configure the system to display screens using the Microsoft Internet Explorer so that real time information may be presented to the operator.
Configuration items include:
DCOM configuration for Windows 2000 or Windows XP/2003 (required only if using the Tsentry OPC server)
DCOM Configuration
DCOM configuration is only required if the workstation will be connecting to the OPC server (GsmOpcSvr) on the host TSENTRY system. Since the GsmOpcSvr process was replaced by the ProbeSvr process in TSENTRY v4.10.00 (July 2007) as the communications server for exchanging data between the TSENTRY host system and the Texplore HMI client, the following is not required for most installations.
The instructions for configuring DCOM depend on the workstation’s operating system.
