No special hardware is required for TSENTRY operation
In order for the installation to run quickly, you must enable the BIOS to boot from the bootable Windows 2000 CD.
Start up system and go into the BIOS by pressing F1 (you must be quick because the computer does not give much time)
Start Options – Startup Sequence
Change the first startup device to CDROM (IBM computer use the right-arrow key, Gateway computer use the ‘-‘ key)
Disable all other startup devices
Save setting and exit setup
Reboot with the Windows 2000 CD in the CDROM drive
Press any key when asked to boot from CD
Press enter to setup Windows 2000 now
If you are using a blank hard drive, press ‘C’ to continue
Press F8 to agree to licensing agreement
If any partitions exist, press D, then enter, then L to delete them
Press C to create main partition
Type in 4096 to create a 4GB partition and press enter
Highlight ‘unpartitioned space’ and press C to create a second partition
Leave the default value as the size (which is the remainder of the hard disk) and press enter
Highlight the C: partition and press enter to begin installation
Make sure ‘Format the partition using the NTFS file system’ is highlighted and press enter
When finished formatting C: partition and copying files, press enter to reboot
Go back into the BIOS by pressing F1 again (some computers need to be powered down first and then turned back on before the bios option is seen again)
Change back the startup sequence to: (IBM computers use the left and right arrow keys and Gateway computer uses the ‘-‘ key)

Click Next
Once in Windows Setup:
Click Next to leave regional settings as the US defaults
Name: Tom Pro
Organization: TelePro, Inc
Click Next
The product key is on the back of the jewel case of the windows CD
Click Next
Win2000 Server only: Select ‘Per Seat’ and click Next
Computer Name: WS##
Type in Administrator password. Usually set as ‘password’
Click Next
Win2000 Server only: If setting up a terminal server, select ‘Terminal Services’ and ‘Terminal Services Licensing’, otherwise leave the selected defaults
Click Next
Update the time and time zone and click Next
Win2000 Server only: If setting up a terminal server, select ‘Application Server Mode’, click Next, select ‘Permissions Compatible With Win2000 Users’, and click Next
Select typical settings if you wish to leave the network settings to be automatically set using DHCP; otherwise select Custom Settings to manually set the IP address and DNS numbers
Click Next
Make sure ‘No…’ is selected and type in ‘TPRI’ or the name of your workgroup
Click Next
When done coping files and performing final tasks, remove the Windows 2000 CD from the drive and click finish to restart computer
Windows 2000 Professional Only:
After Windows reboots click Next
Select ‘Users must enter a username…’
Click Next
Click Finish
Installation of Internet Information Server
Choose Start --> Settings --> Control Panel
Double-click Add/Remove Programs
Click on Add/Remove Windows Components

Check Internet Information Services (IIS)
DCOM Configuration
On the control system:
Run the DCOM configuration tool
c:\winnt\system32\dcomcnfg.exeUnder the Default Properties tab:
Check Enable Distributed COM on this computer
Set Default Authentication Level to (None)OK to save and close dcomcnfg

Disabling welcome message
In Professional edition
In the ‘Getting started Windows 2000’ dialog box, unclick ‘Show this screen at startup’ (located in the bottom right corner)
Click Exit
In Server edition
In the ‘Windows 2000 Configure Your Server’ window, select ‘I will configure my server later’
Click Next
Unclick ‘Show this Screen at Startup’
Close the window
Setting up internet explorer for first time use
Double click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop
Select ‘I want to set up my Internet Connection manually…’
Next
Select ‘I connect through a LAN…’
Next, Next
Select No
Next
Finish
Changing Resolution
Right-Click on desktop – properties
Settings tab:
Screen / Desktop area – move pointer to 1024 X 768
If your display is limited to 16 colors and unable to go up to 1024 X 768, Windows did not correctly find your display adaptor, see the next section below on installing it.
Click OK
Click OK
Click Yes if the screen looks fine
Disk Volume Configuration
Time: 1 min.
This procedure formats the second partition
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management
Click Disk Management
Right-click on (D:) and select Format
Volume label usrvol0
File System: NTFS
Select ‘Perform a quick format’
Click OK
Click OK
After formatting is completed, click ‘X’ to close
If terminal services are to be employed on this system, the following steps must be completed
Start | programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer
Select the tsclient directory by expanding My Computer | c: | Winnt | System32 | Clients | tsclient
Right Click tsclient directory | sharing... | Select "share this folder" | share name "tsclient"
Select Permissions | Uncheck Full Control | Uncheck Change | Apply | OK
Apply | OK
Start | settings | control panel | Administrative Tools | Computer Management | Expand Local Users and Groups | Users
Select user Administrator | Select Terminal Services Profile | Check "allow login to Terminal Server | Apply | OK
Repeat previous step for all users to be granted access to Terminal services
Insert Disk 1 into CDROM drive.
For Windows 2000 Server running Terminal Services only:
After inserting the CD, if a ‘Terminal Server Installation Failure’ window opens, click OK
See the next section (below) on installing the Office 2000 Resource Kit
Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools| Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit Tools | Custom Installation Wizard
Click Next
In the location box, type in E:\data1.msi (E: = cdrom drive letter)
Click Next
Select ‘Open an existing MST file’
In the location box, type in ‘D:\Program Files\orktools\toolbox\tools\terminal server tools\termsrvr.mst’
Click Next
In the location box, type in ‘D:\Office2000Setup\termsrvr.mst
Click Next
Default installation path: ‘D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office’
Organization: TelePro, Inc.
Click Next until the last step and click Finish
Click Exit
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
Click ‘Add New Programs’ on left side
Click ‘CD or Floppy’
Click Next
Type in ‘E:\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=”D:\Office2000Setup\termsrvr.mst”’
Click Next, Next
After Office 2000 installation is complete, click Finish

Installation of Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit
This installation is required only when installing Office 2000 on a Windows 2000 Server running Terminal Services
There are two methods of obtaining the Resource Kit:
The file can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/appndx/toolbox.htm#orktools
Click the icon next to ‘ORKtools.exe'
Select ‘Run this program from its current location’
Click OK
Click Yes
If you have access to TelePro’s network, the file is stored at:
\\tnt0\usrvol2\ServicePacks\Office2000\ResKit\orktools.exe
At the Setup window:
Select ‘I accept…’
Click Next
Change the installation location to D:\Program Files\ORKtools\
Click Next
Click Install Now
Click OK
